Description

This is a velvet door stop from the Buckthorn range, printed with a woodland scene of hand-drawn animals. Look closely at the photograph and you will find a fox sitting upright, a pair of rabbits, an owl and a bear, picked out in soft greys and whites and set among trailing leaves, ferns and toadstools. The whole design sits on a deep evergreen ground, and the reverse and the top are a plain velvet in the same green, so the piece reads as one colour from across the room and reveals its detail as you come closer.

A door stop earns its place by holding a door exactly where you want it, and this one is made for a room where the door tends to drift. The upright, roughly cuboid shape and the sewn fabric loop at the top make it easy to carry from room to room and simple to lift out of the way when you want the door to swing freely again.
