Description

A single drop pendant with a drum shade wrapped in silver leaf and lined in white laminate, so the outer face carries a soft metallic sheen while the inside keeps the light pale and clean. The shade measures 30cm across, and a frosted acrylic diffuser closes the underside, spreading the light into an even wash instead of leaving a bright lamp on show. Chrome on the suspension and the ceiling cup is polished bright, and the flex can be set long for a low hang or short for something more discreet.

It suits a dining table, a kitchen island or a hall where a shaded pendant does more work than a bare bulb. We would also put one either side of a bed, set fairly high, where the diffuser stops any glare from below. It takes an E27 lamp of up to 20W, which we would fill with an LED GLS; with the right lamp and a compatible dimmer on the circuit, the output can be taken down for evenings. Lamps and dimmers are bought separately.

The shade is a laminated wrap on a rigid former, with the acrylic diffuser seated in the base ring, and the metalwork is finished in polished chrome throughout. Keep the chrome fingerprint free with a dry microfibre cloth, and lift dust from the shade with a soft brush rather than anything damp, since the laminate face does not want water. Switch off at the wall before you touch it. It carries a one year warranty, and it is intended for dry rooms indoors.
