Description

Three gold foil shades hang in a line beneath a slender antique brass bar, each measuring 30cm across with a white laminate lining inside. The metalwork has the warm, slightly softened tone of aged brass rather than a bright polish. Every shade takes its own E27 lamp on an adjustable flex, so the row can be set high under a tall ceiling or brought down closer to a table. Seen from below, the linings read as a neat row of soft light.

This is a fitting for a long surface. We reach for a linear pendant where a single central light leaves the ends of a dining table or a kitchen island in shadow, and this one spreads its light along the length rather than pooling it in the middle. It suits open plan rooms, breakfast bars and wide hallways, and there is plenty of flex for a proper drop in taller rooms. It is a good choice if you want warmth in the metal without the shine of chrome. With suitable lamps and a compatible dimmer it will dim for the evening.

The bar runs 1.19m end to end and carries the lamp holders on their own suspensions. Keep it to dry indoor rooms; the brasswork is happier away from steam and splashes. For care, run a soft brush or a dry duster over the foil shades, then give the bar an occasional wipe with a barely damp cloth, leaving polishes and sprays alone. It carries a one year warranty. We also stock the Baymont range as flush fittings in white and in polished chrome, including a silver leaf shade for anyone who finds gold too warm. Lamps are not supplied.

How big are the shades?

Each of the three shades is 30cm in diameter and 17cm tall, carried on a bar 1.19m long, so the fitting spans a good length of table or worktop.

What lamps does it take?

Three E27 lamps, one per shade. We would fit LED GLS A60 lamps, up to 20W each. Lamps are not included.

Can the hanging height be adjusted?

Yes. The drop is adjustable from 405mm up to 3125mm, so it works over a low table or in a room with a tall ceiling.

Is it dimmable?

It can be dimmed provided you use dimmable lamps with a compatible dimmer. No dimmer is supplied with the fitting.

How should I clean the gold foil shades?

Dust them with a soft brush or a dry duster only. Avoid damp cloths, sprays and any cleaning fluid on the foil surface.

Can I use it in a bathroom?

No. It is rated IP20 and belongs in dry rooms such as dining rooms, kitchens and hallways.
