Description

Three E27 lampholders drop from a single antique brass frame, dressed with a faux silk drum shade 40cm across. The outer face is black, and the laminate lining inside is white, which keeps the light travelling rather than soaking it up. A frosted acrylic diffuser, trimmed in antique brass, closes the underside of the shade, so the lamps stay out of sight and what reaches the table below is soft and level.

It suits rooms that want the output of several lamps without hard glare: over a dining table, in a wide hallway, on a landing, or in a bedroom where bedside lights alone fall short. The drop adjusts, so it can hang low over a table or be kept higher where people walk beneath it. It will dim if you pair suitable lamps with a compatible dimmer, which is worth doing in a dining room. We would put warm white LED GLS lamps in it and leave the dimmer to do the rest.

The shade is fabric over a black and white laminate, and the diffuser is frosted acrylic with an antique brass rim, so the metalwork reads the same at the top and the bottom. Keep it looking well with a soft brush over the fabric and an occasional wipe of the acrylic with a barely damp cloth, once the power is off and the lamps have cooled. It carries a one year warranty. The Baymont frames run through our flush and semi-flush fittings and linear pendants too, in polished chrome, satin nickel and white as well as antique brass, so a whole house can be kept in the same family. Lamps are not included.
