Description

Five arms curve out from a polished chrome centre and rise into a single wide drum, so the light pools in one shade rather than in separate shades along each arm. The shade is faux silk in ivory pearl, lined with a white laminate that throws light back down into the room. At 60cm across it sits as a broad, shallow horizontal, and the chrome shows at the ceiling plate and in glimpses beneath the shade where the arms meet.

Over a dining table it is the obvious choice, wide enough to answer a generous top without crowding the space above it. A hall with the height to carry it works just as well, as does a sitting room where a wide shape reads better than a narrow one. The chain gives room to set it high under a tall ceiling or bring it lower over a table. It takes small candle lamps on E14 sockets, and we would fit LED candles here. Dimming is possible if you choose dimmable lamps and pair them with a dimmer of your own.

The frame carries a polished chrome finish, bright rather than brushed, while the drum keeps the softer side of the pairing with its fabric face and pale lining. Keep dust off the shade with a soft brush or the upholstery tool on a vacuum, and give the chrome an occasional wipe with a dry cloth, leaving polishes and sprays out of it. It carries a one year warranty. We stock it as one of the larger pendants for rooms that can take the width, and it works happily alongside chrome switch plates and mirror frames already in the room. Lamps are bought separately.
