Description

Five slim arms sweep out from a matt black centre and turn back up, each finished with an E14 lampholder, while a single wide drum of faux silk sits above them. The shade is 60cm across, in an ivory pearl that reads as a soft warm cream in daylight, and it is lined in white laminate, so light is pushed down over whatever sits beneath rather than lost inside the fabric. The multi arm layout spreads the lamps out under that one shade, which gives a broader, gentler spill than a single central lamp would.

We reach for this one over a dining table, where the width of the shade lines up with the length of the table and the light lands where people are eating. It also works well in a wide hallway or over a low coffee table in a sitting room, and the drop can be shortened or let out to suit the ceiling height you are working with. Candle lamps up to 20W each are the right choice here, and if you want to take the level down for evenings, choose dimmable lamps and pair them with a suitable dimmer.
