Description

A wide multi arm pendant with five candle lamp holders lifted on curved brass arms, sitting beneath a single deep drum shade of faux silk. The shade measures 60cm across, so it reads as a broad, soft edged circle of ivory pearl, lined in white laminate to push light down onto the table below. The metalwork is finished in antique brass, warm and slightly aged rather than bright, and the arms sit within the shade so the candle lamps glow through the fabric.

It suits a dining table best, where the width earns its place and the light spreads across a full setting. It also works over a kitchen island, or in a hall with the height to carry something broad. The chain measures 1.5m, so the drop can be kept short under a modest ceiling or let down properly over a table. We would fit LED candle lamps in a warm white here, and we would put it on a dimmer where it hangs over food; dimmable lamps and a separate dimmer are both needed for that.

The frame and arms are metal, with faux silk stretched over the shade and a white laminate lining inside it. It belongs in dry rooms, well away from bathroom steam. To keep it looking right, run a soft brush over the fabric every so often and lift dust from the brass with a dry duster, keeping anything damp off the shade. It carries a one year warranty. We like it with plain candle lamps whose tips sit clear of the holders, and with the shade hung level so the ivory reads evenly all the way round. Lamps are not included.
