Description

Five slim arms curve out from a central antique brass frame, each finished with a small candle lamp holder, and the whole cluster sits beneath a single wide drum shade. The shade is faux silk in a soft taupe, lined in halo gold, so the light picks up a warm tint as it falls. At 60cm across it reads as a broad, quiet shape rather than a busy one, and the brass shows at the arms and along the chain.

We would hang this over a dining table, where the width fills the space without crowding it, or in a hallway with height to spare. It hangs on chain, and the drop can be shortened or let out to suit the room, with up to 1.5m of chain to work with. It takes candle lamps on E14 sockets, and it will dim where dimmable lamps and a compatible dimmer are used. It is one we reach for in rooms that want presence overhead without hard glare, since the shade holds the lamps out of direct view and softens what passes through the sides.

The frame is metal in an antique brass finish, warm and a little aged rather than bright and new. The shade is faux silk, taupe on the outside with the gold layer facing inwards, so the colour reads one way by day and another once the lamps are on. Keep it looking well with a soft brush over the fabric now and then and a dry cloth on the metalwork; sprays and polishes mark both, so leave them out of it. It carries a one year warranty. Lamps are not included, and we keep LED candle lamps in stock to suit the sockets.
