Description

Five polished chrome arms spread from a central stem, each with a candle lamp holder, and the group is paired with a single fabric shade of grey faux silk, 60cm across and shallow in height. The shade is lined with a grey and white laminate. Chain suspension sets how far it hangs, so it can sit low over a table or be kept high in a through route. The overall effect is wide and low rather than fussy, with the brightwork kept to the arms and chain.

We reach for this one in rooms where a smaller pendant would look lost: a wide hallway, a generous landing, a sitting room with height to give away. Over a dining table it earns its width, spreading light along the table rather than dropping it in a single pool. It suits bedrooms as well, where grey fabric and chrome read as quiet rather than showy, and it works over a kitchen island if the room has the headroom for a fabric shade. Because the holders take candle lamps, the light is broken into several small sources, which is easier on the eye.

The arms and chain share the same polished chrome finish, and the chain gives a good stretch for taller ceilings at 1.5m. Dimming is possible, though it needs dimmable lamps and a compatible dimmer, neither of which comes in the box. Keep the fitting to sheltered indoor rooms, away from bathrooms and porches. For care, take dust off the faux silk with a soft brush or the upholstery tool on a vacuum, then wipe the chrome with a dry cloth and buff any fingerprints away. It carries a one year warranty.
