Three E14 candle lamps sit on a multi arm frame in satin nickel, gathered beneath a broad organza shade in black. At 45cm across, the shade fills the space above a table without crowding it, and the sheer weave of organza lets light through the sides as well as down. The drop adjusts across a wide span, so the pendant can hang low and close over a surface or be shortened to clear a walkway.

We would hang this over a dining table or in a hallway where a single small pendant would look lost. The lamps spread light more widely than a lone bulb would, and candle lamps keep the glare gentle behind sheer fabric. Dimmable lamps will bring the level down for an evening meal, with a dimmer added to the circuit separately. Dry rooms are its territory: a dining room, a bedroom, a landing, rather than a bathroom or anywhere the air is damp. Anyone furnishing in black and brushed metal will find it settles in quickly.

The frame is finished in satin nickel, quiet rather than bright, and the shade is black organza with the faint texture that fabric gives. For the shade, a soft brush or a gentle pass with a vacuum upholstery tool lifts dust without dragging the weave; the metalwork asks for nothing more than a dry cloth, with the power off at the switch first. It carries a one year warranty. The same multi arm frame runs elsewhere in the range with faux silk shades over polished chrome and antique brass, and bare of a shade altogether in finishes such as champagne gold and matt black. Lamps are not included.

What lamps does it take?

Three E14 candle lamps, up to 20W each. We would fit LED candles in the C35 shape, which suit the arms well and stay tidy under the shade. Lamps are supplied separately.

Can it be dimmed?

Yes, provided you use dimmable lamps and have a compatible dimmer on the circuit. No dimmer is supplied with the pendant.

How low will it hang?

The drop is adjustable from 340mm to 1800mm, with a body height of 220mm, so it can be set close to the ceiling or dropped over a table.

What size is the shade?

It measures 450mm in diameter and 150mm deep, a medium width that reads well over a dining table or in a hall.

How should the organza shade be cleaned?

Dust it with a soft brush or the upholstery tool on a vacuum at low suction. Avoid water and sprays, as the weave marks easily and can pull out of shape.

Is it suitable for a bathroom?

No. It is rated IP20 and belongs in dry indoor rooms such as dining rooms, bedrooms, hallways and sitting rooms.
