Description
The Axel Microwave Sensor Module is a 55mm diameter add-on for Axel 100W, 150W and 200W high bay fittings, adding motion detection and automated light control to the base fixture. The module uses microwave sensing to detect movement within its coverage zone and adjusts light output based on occupancy, ambient daylight levels and user-programmed parameters.
Designed for warehouses, factories, large retail units and distribution centres where high bay lights run for long hours, the sensor cuts power consumption by dimming or switching the light to standby when the space is unoccupied. The module is programmed using the separate AXREMC configuration tool (sold separately), which allows adjustment of brightness level, daylight detection threshold, hold time after movement stops, detection sensitivity, and standby timer and light level.
The white polycarbonate housing matches the standard finish of Axel high bay fixtures and projects 29mm from the mounting surface once installed. The module integrates into the existing high bay housing without requiring external wiring runs or separate junction boxes. Microwave sensing provides more reliable detection than PIR in large open spaces, detecting movement through non-metallic obstructions and across the full volume of the detection zone rather than relying on heat signatures.

Frequently Asked
Which Axel high bay models is this module compatible with?
The sensor module fits Axel 100W, 150W and 200W high bay fittings. It integrates directly into the fixture housing and does not require modification to the high bay itself.
How is the sensor programmed?
Programming requires the separate AXREMC configuration tool (product code AXREMC, sold separately at Niori). The remote allows adjustment of brightness, daylight detection threshold, hold time, sensitivity, and standby timer and light level settings.
What detection method does it use?
The module uses microwave sensing rather than passive infrared (PIR). Microwave detection works across larger volumes, detects movement through non-metallic obstructions, and is less affected by temperature variations than PIR, making it more suitable for high-ceiling industrial and commercial spaces.
Does it require separate wiring?
No. The module integrates into the existing Axel high bay housing and connects to the fixture's internal wiring. No external cables or junction boxes are needed once the module is installed in the high bay.
