Description
The Artemisa is an 80x130cm portrait photography print mounted onto 4mm tempered glass, showing a stylised portrait overlaid with botanical elements in crimson, forest green and pale ivory tones. The figure wears a floral headdress composed of dahlias, roses and eucalyptus leaves, creating a surreal composition that blurs the boundary between portrait and still-life photography.
Designed as a statement piece for living rooms, bedrooms and home offices, the print-on-glass construction gives the artwork a reflective, gallery-quality finish without the need for external framing. The tempered glass catches ambient light and reflects it back differently throughout the day, adding depth to the image and making the colours shift depending on viewing angle and room lighting. Hanging ironwork is included for wall mounting.
The portrait sits within the contemporary botanical art trend that pairs figurative photography with natural elements, appealing to interiors that favour rich colour palettes and narrative artwork over abstract minimalism. The 80x130cm scale suits walls above a sofa, bed headboard, or console table where ceiling heights of 2.4m or above provide proportional space. At 10.4kg the glass requires secure wall fixing into solid masonry or timber studs rather than plasterboard alone.
The print composition places the subject's face in soft focus with closed eyes and calm expression, contrasting with the saturated colour and textural detail of the overlaid botanicals. The deep crimson tones anchor the palette while the pale blush and ivory florals provide tonal relief. This interplay between muted portraiture and vivid natural elements gives the piece enough visual weight to hold attention without overwhelming smaller rooms.

Frequently Asked
What type of wall fixing is needed?
The 10.4kg weight requires secure fixing into solid masonry using wall plugs and screws, or into timber studs behind plasterboard. Standard plasterboard fixings are not adequate for this weight. Hanging ironwork is included with the print.
Does the glass need cleaning?
Tempered glass can be wiped with a microfibre cloth and standard glass cleaner. Avoid abrasive cloths or cleaners that might scratch the printed surface. The print is on the reverse of the glass, so the outer surface is simply clear tempered glass.
Is the print behind or on top of the glass?
The photographic print is mounted to the rear surface of the tempered glass, so you view the image through the glass. This protects the print from UV fading and physical wear while giving the artwork a reflective, gallery-style finish.
What room size does this suit?
The 80x130cm scale works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, typically above a sofa, bed headboard, or console table. In smaller rooms or lower ceilings the vertical format can feel disproportionate, so consider wall space and surrounding furniture before installation.
