Description

The Arrochar cushion is a 50 x 50cm square built from a woven cotton and linen blend, 97% cotton and 3% linen, in a soft check of oatmeal and off-white. The pattern is yarn-dyed rather than printed, which means the colour goes right through the threads and the check reads the same on both faces. Around all four edges runs a self-fringe, worked from the cloth itself rather than added as a separate trim, so the fringe is the same fibre and colour as the body of the cushion.

This is an outdoor cushion, and that is the point of it. A water-resistant coating means it can live on a garden bench, a conservatory chair or a terrace seat and take the odd shower without soaking through. The neutral check sits happily against natural wood, rattan and stone, and the muted palette works as easily indoors as out, so it moves from a sofa to a bench and back without looking out of place. The 50cm square is a generous size for a seat back or a chair, giving proper support rather than sitting there as a token accent.

The cover is double-sided, so the check shows whichever way the cushion falls, and it fastens with a zip closure, which lets you take the cover off.
