The Area is a 5-light flush ceiling fitting built from five separate polygon modules arranged asymmetrically across a 710mm x 630mm plane. Each module sits flush to the ceiling at a 40mm projection and houses a recessed GX53 socket behind a diffused opening. The modules vary in size and angle, creating an irregular composition that reads as a single sculptural object rather than five separate fittings.

Designed for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or lower where traditional pendant or semi-flush fittings would sit too low, the Area provides ambient ceiling lighting without hanging into the room volume. The asymmetric layout works in living rooms, bedrooms and hallways where a centred fitting would be visually predictable, allowing the fixture to be positioned off-centre or over a seating area rather than in the geometric middle of the room.

The sand white finish is a warm off-white that sits between pure white and cream, absorbing some of the yellow cast from warm LED bulbs and reflecting cooler daylight with a softer tone than gloss white. The polygon edges are bevelled, creating shadow lines that give the flat modules dimensional presence when viewed from an angle. The total 2.5kg weight distributes across the ceiling rose fixing, which should be screwed into a joist or solid ceiling board rather than plasterboard alone.

The fixture accepts five GX53 bulbs (sold separately), which are low-profile disc-style LEDs commonly available in warm white (2700K-3000K) and cool white (4000K-5000K). Dimming requires dimmable GX53 LEDs paired with a compatible dimmer switch — check lamp and dimmer compatibility before purchasing as not all GX53 LEDs dim smoothly on all dimmer circuits.
