Description

The Arcena-2 is a 500mm circular LED pendant light built around a single matt black aluminium ring with an integrated LED strip running the inner circumference. The LED produces 3000K warm white light directed downward through an acrylic diffuser, creating a soft wash of light beneath the fitting without glare from the source itself.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and open-plan areas with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, the Arcena-2 provides focused downward illumination in a 1-1.5m diameter pool directly beneath the ring. The 45mm profile keeps the fitting visually light, suitable for rooms where a deep pendant would intrude into sightlines. The pendant hangs on three transparent nylon cords from a circular ceiling canopy, with the suspension cables concealing the power feed.

The matt black finish on the aluminium ring absorbs ambient light during the day and disappears into darker ceilings when lit in the evening, leaving the circle of light as the primary visual element. The IP20 rating suits dry indoor spaces including living rooms, dining rooms, home offices and bedrooms. The integrated LED is rated for approximately 30,000 hours of use at 3000K, equivalent to around 10 years of typical domestic evening use.

Note that the existing product description incorrectly states the fitting is dimmable, the specification table confirms it is not. The integrated LED runs at a fixed output on standard 230V mains without dimmer compatibility.

No. The integrated LED runs at a fixed output on 230V mains. The existing product description incorrectly states dimming capability, the specification table confirms the fitting is not dimmable.

What size table does it suit?

The 500mm ring diameter and downward light distribution suit dining tables or kitchen islands between 1.2m and 1.8m in length. The pendant creates a concentrated pool of light approximately 1-1.5m in diameter directly beneath the ring.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 45mm-deep ring suits standard 2.4m ceiling heights when hung 700-800mm above a table surface. Lower ceilings can accommodate the fitting if the suspension cables are shortened during installation.

Can the LED be replaced?

The LED is integrated into the ring structure and is not user-replaceable. The LED is rated for approximately 30,000 hours, equivalent to around 10 years of typical domestic evening use. Ideal Lux provides a 5-year warranty covering LED failure.
