The Angelo is a retro bar stool in vintage brown leather on slim black iron legs. Its cushioning has a ribbed effect, with channels running down the backrest, and the seat curves up at the sides. It stands 105cm tall, 45cm wide and 54cm deep, with the seat at 72cm, and that seat height is the figure to check before anything else. With the usual allowance of 25 to 30cm for knees, a 72cm seat suits a bar top whose underside sits roughly 97 to 102cm from the floor.

That makes it a stool for a raised breakfast bar, a home bar or a kitchen island with a bar-height top. At a standard kitchen worktop of around 90cm, there would be too little knee room, so measure from the floor to the underside of your own top first. Most people's feet will not reach the floor at this height, which is why the curved footrest across the front matters. With the stool 45cm wide, allow around 60cm of bar length for each one so neighbours have room for their elbows; a 180cm run takes three. The vintage brown and black pairing sits well against dark timber, exposed brick, concrete or painted cabinetry.
