Description
The Altea Medium is a 220mm rectangular LED wall light with an open-front design, cast white metal body, and an integrated 21W LED delivering 1785 lumens at 4000K. The LED sits behind a frosted diffuser that fills the rectangular aperture with cool white light, projecting both forward into the room and downward onto the wall surface below.
Designed for hallways, landing areas, bathrooms and workspaces where cool white task lighting is needed, the Altea suits installation heights of 1.8-2.2m where the downward wash can highlight architectural detail or floor transitions. The 100mm projection from the wall creates a pronounced shadow line under the fitting, which adds depth to flat corridor walls and works well when multiple units are aligned in sequence along a long hallway. The 4000K colour temperature sits in the neutral-to-cool range, providing the clarity needed in utility areas without the warmth of 3000K bulbs.
The white powder-coated metal housing measures 220mm wide by 100mm tall, with a 100mm projection that gives the fitting a substantial three-dimensional presence. At 0.6kg the wall light is light enough to mount onto plasterboard with standard cavity fixings, though solid wall fixing is preferred where possible. The non-dimmable LED runs directly on 230V mains without requiring a separate driver, simplifying installation. Mantra backs the fitting with a three-year warranty covering the integrated LED and housing.

Frequently Asked
Is the Altea dimmable?
No. The integrated LED runs at fixed output on 230V mains and is not compatible with dimmer switches. For dimmable alternatives, contact us or use the site filter to find wall lights with dimmable LED.
What's the difference between 4000K and 3000K?
4000K is cool white — a neutral-to-blue tone that provides clarity and suits task-focused areas like bathrooms, workspaces and utility rooms. 3000K is warm white — a softer yellow tone preferred in living rooms and bedrooms. The Altea's 4000K sits in the cooler range.
Can this be used in a bathroom?
The specification does not list an IP rating, which means the Altea is designed for dry interior use only. It should not be installed in bathroom zones where direct water contact or high moisture levels are present. For bathroom wall lights, look for fittings rated IP44 or higher.
How is it mounted?
The fitting mounts directly onto a standard UK backplate with two fixing holes. At 0.6kg it can be installed on plasterboard using cavity fixings, though solid wall fixing provides better long-term stability given the 100mm projection.
