Description
The Alor DTO-W is a round recessed spotlight that takes a single Gx5.3 or GU10 lamp, accepting MR16 or PAR16 light sources rated up to 10W. It runs on either 12V AC/DC via a transformer or directly on 220-240V AC, depending on the lamp fitted, so the beam character follows whichever reflector lamp you choose. Across the Atlantic this style of fitting is generally sold as a recessed can light or downlight trim, and the Alor sits flush into the ceiling to direct a focused pool of light downward.
Use the Alor to pick out specific zones rather than to flood a whole room: it works well over a kitchen worktop, above a reading chair, along a hallway run or as accent lighting to graze a picture or shelf. Throw and spread depend entirely on the MR16 or PAR16 lamp you select, so a narrow-beam reflector gives a tight highlight while a wider one softens the edge. With an IP20 rating it is for dry indoor rooms only, so keep it clear of bathrooms, porches and any damp or exposed location. Several of these placed in a line let you build a layout that suits the space.
Built from steel with a matte white finish, the Alor measures Ø99mm with a depth of 22mm and weighs just 80g, so it drops neatly into a standard ceiling cut-out. The round trim holds the lamp securely while the shallow body suits ceilings with limited void depth above. Dimming and colour temperature are determined by the GU10 or MR16 lamp you fit rather than the fitting itself, which gives you freedom to match the rest of a scheme. The Alor spotlight range is offered in further sizes and finishes alongside this Ø100 matte white version.

Frequently Asked
Is a lamp included with the Alor DTO-W?
No, the fitting is supplied as the trim and holder only. It accepts an MR16 or PAR16 reflector lamp with a Gx5.3 or GU10 cap rated up to 10W, so you can choose the beam angle and colour temperature to suit the room.
Can the Alor be dimmed?
Dimming depends on the lamp you fit rather than the fitting. If you choose a dimmable GU10 or MR16 LED and pair it with a compatible dimmer, the Alor will dim smoothly; check the lamp packaging for its dimming rating.
Can I use the Alor in a bathroom or outdoors?
No. The Alor carries an IP20 rating, which means it is for dry indoor use only. Keep it out of bathrooms, shower zones, porches and any damp or exposed outdoor location.
How do I clean the Alor DTO-W?
Switch off the power and let the lamp cool, then wipe the matte white trim with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners and solvents so the finish stays even, and never spray liquid directly into the fitting.
