Description

The Alboran is a 52cm pendant light built from three overlapping metal panels that fold and layer around a central void, housing three E27 bulb sockets inside. The panels are finished in white with a low-sheen surface, and their curved, asymmetric arrangement creates directional light spillage from the gaps between layers while preventing direct view of the bulbs from most angles below.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and open-plan living zones where the pendant hangs 700-900mm above the surface, the Alboran provides diffused ambient light rather than focused task light. The 1500mm maximum drop is adjustable on installation, allowing the pendant to suit ceiling heights from 2.4m upwards. The three E27 sockets accept standard LED, halogen or filament bulbs up to 60W each (sold separately), giving control over brightness and colour temperature.

The folded panel construction gives the pendant its 3.8kg weight, which provides presence without needing oversized diameter. At 520mm across, the Alboran suits tables 1.2-1.8m long or kitchen islands 1.5-2.5m without dominating smaller rooms. The white finish pairs with both neutral and coloured interiors, and the matt surface minimises reflections from daylight windows. The panels are steel, powder-coated for durability.

The pendant has three E27 (Edison screw) sockets, each accepting bulbs up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with three warm-white LED bulbs between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for ambient dining or living room light.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, when paired with dimmable bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch. The pendant itself is passive — dimming capability depends on the bulbs you fit and the type of dimmer on the circuit.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 1500mm maximum drop allows the pendant to hang 700-900mm above a table surface in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. The minimum 400mm drop suits lower ceilings or installations where the pendant needs to sit closer to the ceiling rose.

How is the white finish maintained?

The powder-coated steel panels can be wiped with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. For stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with water is acceptable, but avoid chemical sprays or abrasive cleaners that may dull the finish.
