Description
The Akira is a 6-light linear chandelier built around two curved arms extending 1040mm in width, each arm supporting three E14 candle bulbs set into crystal glass cups below cream fabric drum shades. The antique brass frame provides a warm metallic foundation with subtle tonal variation typical of aged brass finishes, while the crystal cups amplify and diffuse light from the bulbs before it passes through the cream shades.
Designed for dining tables longer than 1.8m, kitchen islands above 2m in length, and hallways or entrance areas where horizontal linear lighting suits the space better than a compact cluster. The 220mm depth and 1040mm width mean this chandelier reads as architectural rather than decorative-only, making it a practical choice where ambient ceiling light needs to cover an elongated surface. The adjustable 600-1550mm drop allows installation over dining tables (typically hung 700-750mm above the table surface) or in double-height entrance halls where a longer drop creates presence.
The frame uses curved brass arms rather than straight bars, giving a softer profile than strict linear geometry while maintaining symmetry across the central vertical rod. Each crystal cup sits in a brass socket below the shade, catching and reflecting light downward and outward before the bulb itself is visible. The cream shades soften the output from the six E14 bulbs (sold separately) and reduce glare when the chandelier is viewed from dining or seating positions below. At 5kg the chandelier requires a ceiling fixing rated for at least 10kg to provide safe margin.
The antique brass finish develops different patina tones depending on environment and handling, so the colour may shift slightly over time — this is characteristic of the finish type. The cream shades are fabric over a rigid frame and can be dusted with a soft dry cloth; the crystal cups can be wiped with a slightly damp microfibre cloth when the power is isolated.

Frequently Asked
Is the Akira dimmable?
Yes, when fitted with dimmable E14 bulbs and paired with a compatible dimmer switch on the circuit. The chandelier itself does not include dimming electronics — dimmer compatibility depends on the bulb type you choose and the dimmer model installed.
What bulbs does it take?
The Akira takes six E14 (small Edison screw) candle bulbs, sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K-3000K to balance light output with the warm tone of the antique brass and cream shades.
What dining table length does it suit?
The 1040mm width suits dining tables of 1.8m or longer. For tables shorter than 1.8m the chandelier may appear visually heavy relative to the table surface. When hung 700-750mm above the table the light covers approximately 2-2.4m of table length.
Can the drop height be adjusted after installation?
The drop is set during installation by shortening the chain and concealing excess cable within the ceiling canopy. Once installed, adjusting the drop requires removing the canopy, re-threading the chain, and re-concealing the cable.
