Description
These are pencil pleat curtains woven as a jacquard chenille in the Acorn design, sold as a pair. The pattern was originally drawn in 1879 from the wooden Morris & Co. hand-printing blocks, and here it is reworked as a woven jacquard rather than a print, so the acorns, oak leaves and trailing stems are formed in the cloth itself. On the stone and sage colourway you get soft green foliage, muted tan acorns and small blush-pink flowers on a pale ground, with the chenille pile catching the light and giving the surface a gentle depth.
They suit a sitting room, a bedroom or a study where you want a decorative window and a fabric that feels substantial in the hand. The chenille weave has a soft, slightly plush face that reads as warm and settled rather than crisp, which sits comfortably against wooden furniture, painted panelling and neutral walls. The design has a repeating vertical rhythm, so on a wide window the pattern carries evenly across both curtains when they are drawn. There is a matching cushion in the same design if you want to tie the seating into the window.
The heading is a pencil pleat, which gathers the fabric into tight vertical folds and hooks onto a standard track or pole, so these are straightforward to hang and easy to draw. They come in eight sizes, from 117 x 137cm up to 228 x 228cm, the first figure being the width per curtain and the second the drop, so measure your track or pole width and your desired length before choosing. The fabric is 100% polyester, which holds colour well, resists creasing and drapes with weight. Style them simply with tie-backs, or leave them to fall full for a softer look.

Frequently Asked
Are these curtains sold as a pair?
Yes, each size is supplied as a pair of curtains, with the first measurement being the width of each individual curtain and the second the drop.
What kind of heading do they have?
They have a pencil pleat heading, which gathers into tight vertical folds and hooks onto a standard curtain track or pole for easy hanging.
What is the fabric made from?
The cloth is 100% polyester woven as a jacquard chenille, which gives a soft plush face, holds its colour and drapes with a good weight.
How do I choose the right size?
Measure the width of your track or pole and the drop you want, then match to the eight sizes running from 117 x 137cm up to 228 x 228cm per pair.
Is the pattern printed or woven in?
The Acorn design is woven into the fabric as a jacquard rather than printed on top, so the foliage and acorns are formed in the cloth itself.
Is there anything else in this design?
Yes, there is a matching cushion in the same Acorn design, which lets you carry the pattern from the window across to your seating.
