8 Gang Twin 2 Way Light Switch - Carbon Fibre

Eight rockers sit side by side on a single twin plate, and each works two way, so a circuit can be switched from here alone or paired with a switch across the room. That also means it can act as the partner switch in a pair already wired that way. The front is screwless, so the face reads clean with nothing but the rockers to break it up. Those rockers are chrome, set against a dark carbon fibre plate whose textured surface catches light softly rather than throwing a hard reflection.

We stock this for the spots where a whole floor of lighting lands in the same place: the doorway of an open plan kitchen and dining room, the foot of a staircase where hall, landing and porch all want reaching, or a big sitting room with wall lights, pendants and lamp circuits split between rockers. The plate is moulded polycarbonate over metal, double insulated, and its texture sits better with a matt scheme than with polished brass and high gloss white. Cleaning wants a dry microfibre cloth over the plate and rockers with the lighting circuits off at the consumer unit; keep solvents, polish and abrasive cream away, because a textured surface holds them where a smooth one would not. How many lighting circuits will this switch control?

Eight, one per rocker, and every rocker is two way, so any of them can either work on its own or be paired with a second switch elsewhere. Each rocker is rated at 10AX.

What size is the plate?

It is a twin plate measuring 146mm across by 88mm high, with a depth of 35mm behind the face and fixing centres of 120mm.

What is it made of?

A moulded polycarbonate plate with metal internally, finished in textured carbon fibre with chrome rockers. It is Class 2, double insulated.

How should the textured finish be cleaned?

Switch the circuits off at the consumer unit and use a dry or barely damp microfibre cloth. Avoid solvents, cream cleaners and metal polish, as the texture traps residue and can dull.

Can it go in a bathroom or an outbuilding?

No. It is rated for dry indoor rooms and domestic lighting circuits only, so it should not be used in bathroom zones or anywhere exposed to damp.

Is it certified for use in the UK?

Yes, it is UKCA and CE marked and made to BS EN 60669, for a 220 to 250V supply. It carries a ten year warranty.
