Description

This 6 x 32mm slow blow fuse is rated at 315mA (T315mA) on 250V and provides time-delay protection for circuits carrying sensitive electronics. The slow blow characteristic allows brief inrush currents during power-on or motor start without blowing, while still protecting against sustained overcurrent or short circuit faults.

Designed for use in audio amplifiers, power supplies, instrument amplifiers, lighting control circuits and other equipment where inrush tolerance is needed, the fuse fits standard 6mm diameter fuse clips and holders. The glass tube body allows visual inspection of the fuse wire to confirm whether the fuse has blown without removing it from the circuit.

The fuse meets IEC standards for construction and breaking capacity, ensuring reliable operation across the 250V voltage range. Each fuse measures 32mm in length including the nickel-plated end caps. The time-delay rating means the fuse can handle short-duration overcurrent events up to several times the rated current without nuisance blowing, making it suitable for equipment with capacitive or inductive loads that draw higher current at switch-on.

Frequently Asked

What does slow blow mean?

Slow blow (time-delay) fuses allow brief overcurrent surges without blowing, protecting against sustained faults while tolerating normal inrush currents when equipment powers on. This prevents nuisance blowing in circuits with motors, transformers or capacitive loads.

What is the breaking capacity?

IEC-compliant fuses of this type typically carry a breaking capacity of 35A or higher at 250V, meaning they can safely interrupt fault currents up to that level without rupturing the glass tube or causing arcing damage.

Can this replace a fast-blow fuse of the same rating?

No. Fast-blow and slow-blow fuses serve different purposes. Replacing a fast-blow fuse with a slow-blow type may leave the circuit under-protected, as the slow-blow fuse will tolerate higher overcurrent for longer before interrupting the circuit.

What equipment uses 315mA fuses?

315mA fuses are common in low-power audio equipment, signal processors, small power supplies, LED drivers and control circuits where the normal operating current is well below 315mA but brief inrush currents occur at power-on.
