The Knightsbridge 5A unswitched round pin socket provides a single 5A outlet for lighting circuits controlled by a separate wall switch. The polished chrome screwless faceplate is paired with a white insert, giving a high-contrast finish that suits both traditional lighting installations and contemporary interiors where chrome accents are used throughout.

Designed for table lamps, floor lamps and decorative lighting wired to a dedicated switched circuit, the socket removes the need for inline switches or plug-top controls. The unswitched design means the lamp is turned on and off via a wall-mounted switch elsewhere in the room, keeping the lamp base free of visible controls. The 5A rating is typical for BS 546 round pin sockets used in UK lighting circuits, handling up to 1,150W of load.

The screwless cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box, hiding all fixings once installed. Is the screwless plate removable for redecorating?

Yes. The polished chrome cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box. The cover can be removed for painting or wallpapering around the socket and re-clipped without disturbing the wiring.
