Description

Five amber shades, slim and curved into a tapered trapezium, hang together from a single round ceiling plate finished in antique gold. The shapes are narrow rather than bulbous, so the cluster reads as a group of falling forms rather than a solid mass. The plate measures 45cm across, which gives each shade room to sit apart from its neighbours. Warm metal against amber gives a soft, honeyed cast once lit, and the shades hold their colour even unlit.

The drops are adjustable, so this suits a dining table where you want the shades low and close, or a hallway where they need to sit clear of head height. It works over a kitchen island too, staggered a little for a looser arrangement. It takes E27 lamps of up to 20W each, and it will dim if you pair suitable lamps with a compatible dimmer, neither of which comes with it. We would reach for warm white LED lamps here, since clear filament styles show through amber particularly well.

The frame carries an antique gold finish throughout, warm and slightly aged rather than bright, and the shades are toned to sit with it. Dust them with a dry cloth once the lamps are cool, and lift any marks on the metal with a barely damp cloth, keeping moisture away from the lampholders. It carries a one year warranty. It is wired for an earthed indoor supply and belongs in dry rooms. If the pendant is more than a room needs, we also stock single light flush fittings in the same range using these amber trapezium shades, in antique gold or polished chrome. Lamps are not included.
