45W LED Dual Mount Emergency Luminaire - 1500mm White

The Knightsbridge SUR5LEDEM is a 1500mm LED emergency luminaire delivering 4790lm output from a 45W integrated SMD LED array at 4000K cool white. The fitting operates in maintained, non-maintained or switched emergency modes with a 3-hour battery backup providing 190lm emergency output when mains power is lost. The pressed steel and polypropylene body houses a constant current driver, opal diffuser and push-fit loop-in/loop-out terminals for daisy-chain wiring.

Designed for offices, schools, healthcare facilities and retail environments, the luminaire can be surface-mounted directly to ceilings or suspended using the optional Knightsbridge suspension kit (sold separately). The low 45mm profile fits rooms with restricted ceiling voids and the 110-degree beam angle provides wide-area illumination suitable for corridor runs, open-plan offices and classroom blocks. The IP20 rating limits use to internal dry areas.

The 1500mm length and 200mm width give the fitting a substantial presence across standard ceiling grids, and the white powder-coated finish integrates with most commercial ceiling finishes. The opal polycarbonate diffuser reduces glare from the LED array below while maintaining high lumen efficiency at 133.97lm/W. The L70B50 rating of 50,000 hours indicates the LED will retain 70% of initial output after 50,000 hours of operation, reducing maintenance frequency compared to older fluorescent battens.

The fitting is Class I and requires earthing. The constant current driver is compatible with various Knightsbridge PIR and daylight sensors for occupancy-based control, allowing the luminaire to dim or switch off when spaces are unoccupied or daylight levels are sufficient. The 5-year warranty covers the driver and LED array but excludes the emergency battery.

What are the three emergency modes?

Maintained mode keeps the LED on continuously and switches to battery in a power cut. Non-maintained mode only illuminates from battery when mains power is lost. Switched mode allows normal switching with automatic battery activation during power failure. All three modes provide 190lm output for 3 hours from the internal battery.

Can it be suspended from the ceiling?

Yes. The luminaire can be surface-mounted or suspended using the optional Knightsbridge suspension kit, sold separately. The suspension kit allows the fitting to hang pendant-style from ceilings where surface-mounting is not practical.

Is it suitable for corridor lighting?

Yes. The 1500mm length, 4790lm output and 110-degree beam angle make it well-suited to corridor runs in offices, schools and healthcare buildings. Multiple units can be daisy-chained using the loop-in/loop-out terminals.

How long does the battery last?

The emergency battery provides 3 hours of backup lighting at 190lm output when mains power is lost. The battery is not covered by the 5-year warranty and will require replacement periodically depending on discharge frequency and environmental conditions.
