The Knightsbridge 45A cooker control unit combines a 45A double pole isolator switch, a 13A switched socket outlet, and dual USB-A charging ports (5V DC 2.4A shared output) behind a brushed chrome screwless faceplate with a white insert. The 45A switch isolates both live and neutral lines to one or more cooking appliances, while the 13A socket and USB ports sit on separate circuits for independent use.

Designed for kitchen installation near cooker positions or in utility rooms, the unit consolidates three functions into a single 147.5mm x 87.5mm plate, saving wall space compared to separate switches and sockets. The cooker switch typically controls a dedicated 6mm² cooker circuit, while the 13A socket draws from standard ring-main wiring. The dual USB-A ports share a 2.4A output, suitable for overnight phone charging or low-draw tablet use while cooking.

The brushed chrome finish is stainless steel with a directional grain that hides fingerprints better than polished finishes. The white insert behind the faceplate provides contrast around the socket apertures and switch rockers. The screwless cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box, leaving no visible fixings on the wall once installed. The 45A switch is a double pole isolator for a dedicated cooker circuit, typically wired with 6mm² cable. The 13A socket is a standard switched outlet for appliances up to 3,120W, wired to the ring main. They operate independently on separate circuits.

Can both USB ports charge simultaneously?

Yes. The dual USB-A ports share a total output of 5V DC 2.4A. Charging two devices simultaneously will split the available current between them, so charge times will be slower than charging a single device.

What back box depth is required?

A minimum 47mm back box depth is needed for safe installation. The screwless cover plate adds 9.6mm of projection from the wall once fitted.

Is the screwless plate removable for redecorating?

Yes. The cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box. The cover can be removed for painting around the unit and re-clipped without re-wiring.
