Description

Three shades hang from a round satin nickel plate that measures 40cm across, each on its own adjustable suspension, so the heads can sit level with one another or step down in a gentle line. They are diamond cut, and no two match: amber, chrome and opal, which gives the group some variety without breaking up the set. Each shade sits over an E27 socket, so the lamp you pick has a real say in how the piece reads when lit.

We would hang it over a dining table or a kitchen island, where the heads can be spread along the length rather than bunched at one point. It also earns its place in a wide hallway or above a stairwell landing, given the drop it will take. Dimming is possible where the lamps and the dimmer are chosen to suit each other, and neither comes with it. This is the one we suggest when a single pendant would leave the ends of a long table in shadow.

The metalwork wears a satin nickel finish, a soft grey sheen that stays quiet behind the coloured shades. Keep it looking well with a dry cloth over the shades and a barely damp one on the nickel, switched off and cool first; the chrome shade shows fingermarks more than its neighbours and rewards a quick buff. Dry indoor rooms are its place. It carries a one year warranty.
