Description

Three slim curved trapezium shades hang in a line from a narrow antique gold bar, each one shaded from warm amber down into soft smoke so the tone shifts as you move past. The bar runs 850mm across and the shades are slender enough to read as a row of glowing shapes rather than one solid block. Each takes an E27 lamp, and the suspension adjusts, so the shades can sit high and tidy or come down close over a surface.

We would hang this over a narrow dining table, a kitchen island or a breakfast bar, where one fitting covers a length that would otherwise want a whole row of pendants. It suits rooms with a little height to play with, since the drop extends to 2270mm when you want the light brought right down over plates and glasses. Dimming is possible with compatible lamps and a matching dimmer, which is worth arranging where the same table takes homework in the afternoon and supper in the evening.

The metalwork is finished in antique gold with an aged, low-shine surface that keeps it quiet against the warm colour above it. Dust the shades with a dry microfibre cloth and lift any marks with a barely damp one, working in small circles so the tint looks even from below, then leave the gold dry.
