Description
The Knightsbridge 20AX DP key switch module is a grid-compatible electrical switch marked EMG LTG TEST, designed for emergency lighting circuits that require key-operated control. The module clips into standard Knightsbridge grid mounting frames (sold separately) and carries a 20AX double pole switch rated for 230V 50Hz mains. The brushed brass faceplate measures 24.8mm wide, occupying one grid position, and includes a removable key for restricted circuit access.
Designed for commercial buildings, care homes, schools, hospitals and retail premises where emergency lighting test circuits must be protected from casual operation, the module allows authorised personnel to test or isolate circuits using the supplied key. The double pole switching isolates both live and neutral lines when turned off, providing additional safety during maintenance. The module fits grid frames with a minimum 35mm back box depth and projects 2.5mm from the front of the frame once installed.
The brushed brass finish pairs with other modules in the Knightsbridge grid range, allowing multiple switches, sockets and data points to be assembled on a single frame in matching finishes. The ABS and steel construction carries an IP20 rating for dry indoor environments and is backed by a 25-year manufacturer warranty. The EMG LTG TEST marking is moulded into the brass faceplate, providing permanent labelling that will not wear off during cleaning or handling.

Frequently Asked
What is the module used for?
This key switch module is specifically designed for emergency lighting test circuits, where building regulations or internal policies require test switches to be operated only by authorised personnel. The key prevents casual activation and provides audit control over who can test or isolate the circuit.
What grid frames does it fit?
The module clips into standard Knightsbridge modular grid mounting frames. It occupies one grid position (approximately 25mm width) and requires a minimum 35mm back box depth. Grid frames are sold separately and are available in single, double, triple and larger configurations.
Can the key be removed when the switch is on?
Knightsbridge key switch modules typically allow the key to be removed in both the on and off positions, but the exact behaviour depends on the internal mechanism. Contact us if you require a module where the key can only be removed in one position.
What other finishes are available?
Knightsbridge produces grid modules in a range of finishes including polished chrome, brushed chrome, polished brass, antique brass, matt black and white. Use the search function to find the same module in other finishes currently in stock at Niori.
