Description

The Knightsbridge 20A 1-gang DP switch controls fixed appliances rated up to 4,600W on 230V mains, typically water heaters, immersion heaters and electric showers. The brushed chrome faceplate carries a single rocker with a red neon indicator that illuminates when the switch is on, providing visible confirmation without needing to check the appliance itself.

Double pole switching isolates both live and neutral lines when off, providing additional safety over single-pole designs for high-draw fixed appliances. The switch fits a standard 25mm minimum back box depth and uses a rounded edge metal faceplate with a built-in gasket that seals against the wall once the faceplate screws are tightened. The rocker itself is metal-finished to match the brushed chrome surround.

The 85.75mm square faceplate sits 7.5mm proud of the wall once installed. The brushed chrome finish provides a mid-tone metallic surface that hides fingerprints better than polished finishes and pairs well with both modern and transitional kitchens, utility rooms and bathrooms where water heaters and immersions are typically controlled. The switch carries a 25-year manufacturer warranty and is certified to EN 60669-1.

What does the neon indicator show?

The red neon illuminates when the switch is in the on position, providing visible confirmation that power is flowing to the appliance without needing to check the appliance itself. The neon draws minimal current and does not affect the 20A load rating.

What back box depth is required?

A 25mm minimum back box depth is needed for safe installation. The faceplate projects 7.5mm from the wall once fitted, giving a total depth of approximately 32.5mm from the wall surface to the back of the back box.

Is the rounded edge style screwless?
