A telephone socket and a Cat 5 Ethernet data socket sit side by side on one small square plate, behind a screwless cover that snaps into place and leaves no screw heads on show. The plate measures 88mm across, no wider than an ordinary single plate, which keeps a phone line and a wired network point together in one tidy position. The moss green finish gives it a quieter presence than white plastic. Both connections are low voltage, so nothing here carries mains power.

It earns its keep at a desk. Where a study or home office wants a landline point and a proper cabled link to the router, this covers both from a single place on the wall, and a wired connection still holds steadier than wi-fi for video calls, big file transfers or a desktop machine that never moves.
