2 Gang Ethernet Socket - Moss Green

Moss green is an unusual colour for network hardware, and that is rather the point. This is a flat screwless plate with two data sockets set side by side, the front cover clipping over a hidden sub-plate so nothing interrupts the face of it. The moulded ABS plate measures 88mm square, and the green is part of the material rather than a coat of paint sitting on top. Both ports are for structured network cabling, working at low voltage on data circuits only.

Both ports are made for Cat 5 and Cat 6 data cabling, the standard for home and small office networks.

Can it be used for mains power?

No. It is a data plate only, working as Class 3 low voltage equipment on data circuits. Mains appliances need a proper 13A socket.

What size is the plate?

It is 88mm square with an overall depth of 35mm, so it keeps to the usual proportions of a two gang plate.

Is it suitable for a bathroom, garage or outdoors?

It is rated for indoor use in dry rooms. Damp or exposed positions call for a sealed enclosure instead.

Will the green fade or chip?

The colour is moulded through the ABS rather than applied as a surface finish, so a knock will not reveal white plastic underneath.

How should I clean it?

A dry cloth for dust, or a slightly damp one for marks. Avoid abrasive pads and solvent cleaners, which will take the sheen off the plate.
