Description

This recessed downlight runs an integrated LED array at 13W and puts out 1300 lumens, so there is no separate lamp to buy and nothing to replace when the light eventually dims. The deep reflector behind the aperture is specular, a mirror bright cone that gathers light and pushes it forward rather than letting it scatter inside the housing, and the outer bezel is plain white so the fitting sits quietly against a painted ceiling. It is a tri-white unit, so the white tone is selectable rather than fixed at one temperature.

A 60 degree beam is the middle ground for downlights: wide enough to wash a worktop or a hallway floor without hot spots, tight enough to keep the light where you aimed it. Because it is rated IP54 it can be used in bathroom zones 2 and 3, which covers a ceiling above a basin or outside the shower footprint, and the same rating suits a kitchen ceiling where steam is a fact of life.
