Description
This Knightsbridge 13A switched fused spur provides double pole isolation for fixed appliances behind a brushed chrome faceplate with rounded edges and a matching rocker. A red neon indicator above the switch confirms when the circuit is live, allowing quick visual confirmation of power status for appliances such as boilers, extractor fans, water heaters and washing machines.
Designed for residential and light commercial installation, the unit accepts a standard 13A fuse and switches both live and neutral lines when turned off, providing safer isolation than single-pole switching. The rounded edge profile sits 7.5mm proud of the wall once fitted to a 25mm minimum back box, giving a softer visual finish than sharp-edged plates. A built-in gasket seals the plate to the wall surface, reducing dust ingress behind the faceplate.
The brushed chrome finish is a directional satin surface that minimises fingerprints and reflections, pairing comfortably with modern kitchens, utility rooms and bathrooms where hard-wired appliances are controlled from a single fixed point. The matching rocker and fuse holder give a consistent metal tone across the entire faceplate rather than the white plastic rockers found on budget alternatives. Certified to BS 1363-4 and carrying a 25-year manufacturer warranty, the unit is constructed from premium-grade steel.

Frequently Asked
What's the purpose of the neon indicator?
The red neon indicator above the switch glows when the circuit is live, allowing you to confirm at a glance whether power is reaching the connected appliance. This is particularly useful for appliances like boilers or extractor fans where the appliance itself may not give a clear visual indication of power status.
What back box depth is required?
A 25mm minimum back box depth is needed for safe installation. The faceplate adds 7.5mm of projection from the wall once fitted.
What fuse rating does it take?
The unit accepts a standard 13A BS 1362 fuse, which is the maximum rating for this type of fused spur. Lower-rated fuses (3A, 5A) can be used where the connected appliance requires circuit protection at a lower amperage.
What does double pole switching mean?
Double pole switching isolates both the live and neutral lines when the unit is turned off, providing safer isolation than single-pole switches which only break the live conductor. This makes the unit suitable for controlling higher-draw fixed appliances where complete circuit isolation is preferred.
