Description

This Knightsbridge 13A switched fused spur unit combines a switch-controlled fuse holder with a neon indicator and a flex outlet behind an antique brass screwless faceplate. The fused spur isolates and protects hard-wired appliances such as extractor fans, boilers, water heaters and kitchen appliances rated up to 13A (3,120W at 230V).

Designed for residential and light commercial installation, the unit fits a standard 25mm minimum back box depth and uses a screwless cover plate that clips onto a separate metal sub-frame. The neon indicator glows red when the switch is in the on position, giving a visual confirmation that the circuit is live. The flex outlet below the switch provides a cable entry point for appliances that require a flexible rather than fixed connection, such as wall-mounted extractor hoods or boilers with removable service panels.

The antique brass finish is applied to a 201 stainless steel construction and provides a warm, aged metallic tone that pairs well with traditional and period interiors. The screwless design removes visible fixings from the wall once installed, giving a cleaner finish than screw-fixed plates. A fused spur provides a switched, fused connection for a hard-wired appliance such as an extractor fan, boiler, water heater or fixed kitchen appliance. It isolates the appliance from the mains supply when switched off and protects the circuit with a replaceable 13A fuse.

What back box depth is required?

A 25mm minimum back box depth is needed for safe installation. The screwless cover plate adds approximately 9mm of projection from the wall once fitted.

What does the flex outlet do?

The flex outlet provides a cable entry point for appliances that require a flexible rather than fixed connection. This allows the appliance cable to pass through the faceplate into the back box, where it connects to the fused terminals.

Is the screwless plate removable for redecorating?
