Description

The Knightsbridge 13A fused module is a single-gang Grid component that clips into Knightsbridge mounting frames to provide fused spur protection for hardwired appliances. The module houses a replaceable 13A fuse behind a polished chrome faceplate marked 'FUSE', allowing circuit protection to be reset by changing the fuse without rewiring the module.

Designed for kitchen appliances, boilers, extractor fans and other fixed electrical equipment requiring fused-down protection from a ring main, the module fits into Knightsbridge's modular Grid system. Grid frames are sold separately and allow between one and six modules to be combined in a single wall plate. The clip-in fitting means modules can be swapped or reconfigured without removing the mounting frame from the wall.

The module body is constructed from ABS plastic with steel terminals, giving durability in domestic and light commercial environments. The polished chrome finish provides a reflective metallic surface that pairs with traditional and contemporary interiors. At 24.8mm wide and 56.3mm tall, the module occupies one Grid position and requires a minimum 35mm back box depth for safe installation. The IP20 rating suits dry indoor locations only.

What is a Grid module and do I need a mounting frame?

Knightsbridge Grid modules are individual electrical components that clip into separate mounting frames. The frames are sold separately and allow you to combine multiple modules (switches, sockets, fused spurs) into a single wall plate. You cannot install this module without a compatible Grid frame.

What back box depth is required?

A minimum 35mm back box depth is needed for safe installation. The module itself has a recessed depth of 21.2mm and projects 2.5mm beyond the mounting frame once fitted.

Can the fuse be replaced?

Yes. The module uses a standard replaceable 13A fuse. When the fuse blows, remove the faceplate, replace the fuse, and clip the faceplate back into position. No rewiring is needed.
