Description
The Knightsbridge 13A fused module is a single-width grid component that provides fused spur protection for fixed appliances such as cooker hoods, boilers, immersion heaters and washing machines. The module ships with a replaceable 13A fuse fitted, allowing the fuse to be changed without removing the module from the mounting frame. The fuse carrier is accessed from the front by prising out the grey rocker plate marked 'FUSE'.
Designed for use within Knightsbridge's modular grid system, the module clips into a separately-sold mounting frame (available in 1-gang, 2-gang, 3-gang and 4-gang configurations). The clip-in system allows modules to be swapped or repositioned without removing the entire faceplate, which is useful when adding or reconfiguring circuits during a refit. The 35mm minimum back box depth requirement is compatible with standard UK mounting boxes.
The matt black ABS body and steel terminals give the module a low-sheen finish that pairs with contemporary, industrial and monochrome interiors. The IP20 rating suits dry indoor locations including kitchens, utility rooms and plant rooms, but not bathrooms, wet rooms or outdoor installations. The 25-year warranty covers manufacturing defects and component failure under normal residential use.

Frequently Asked
What mounting frame does this require?
This module is a single-width grid component and must be fitted into a separately-sold Knightsbridge grid mounting frame. Frames are available in 1-gang, 2-gang, 3-gang and 4-gang sizes to accommodate multiple modules side-by-side.
How is the fuse accessed and replaced?
The fuse carrier is accessed from the front by prising out the grey rocker plate marked 'FUSE'. The 13A fuse can then be removed and replaced without removing the module from the mounting frame or isolating the circuit at the consumer unit.
What appliances is this suitable for?
The 13A fuse rating suits fixed appliances drawing up to 3,000W on 230V mains, including cooker hoods, extractor fans, boilers, immersion heaters, washing machines and tumble dryers. It provides local fused spur protection for appliances that do not have their own plug and socket.
Can this be used in bathrooms?
No. The IP20 rating means the module is suitable for dry indoor locations only. Bathrooms, wet rooms and outdoor installations require higher IP-rated components.
