This Knightsbridge 13A 2-gang switched socket adds two USB-A charging ports with LED charge indicators behind a matt black flat plate. Each USB port has a dedicated LED that illuminates when a device is connected and charging, providing visual confirmation without needing to check the device screen. The dual-gang configuration delivers two switched 13A outlets rated to 3,120W each, plus the shared 2.4A USB output at 5V DC.

Designed for residential and hospitality installation, the socket fits rooms where visual feedback on charging status is useful: bedside positions in hotels, kitchen worktops where phones charge during the day, and home offices where multiple devices need power and charge simultaneously. The flat plate sits 9.3mm proud of the wall surface and requires a 35mm minimum back box depth for safe installation. The twin rocker switches isolate each outlet independently.

The matt black finish is produced on SPCC steel construction, giving a low-sheen surface that resists fingerprints better than gloss finishes and pairs with contemporary, industrial and monochrome interiors. The plate is IP20 rated for indoor dry-location use only. What do the LED indicators show?

Each USB port has a dedicated LED that illuminates when a device is connected and actively charging. The LED provides visual confirmation that the charging circuit is live and the device is drawing power, without needing to check the device screen itself.

What is the USB charging output?

The two USB-A ports provide 5V DC at 2.4A shared output. This means the 2.4A total is divided between the two ports when both are in use simultaneously. A single device can draw up to 2.4A if it is the only device connected.

What back box depth is required?

A 35mm minimum back box depth is required for safe installation. The flat plate adds 9.3mm of projection from the wall surface once fitted.

Can this be used in bathrooms?

No. The socket carries an IP20 rating, which is for indoor dry locations only. It cannot be installed in bathrooms, wet rooms or other locations where moisture or water splashes are present.
