The Knightsbridge 13A 2-gang DP switched socket provides two 13A outlets with double-pole switching and twin earth terminals behind a brushed chrome faceplate with black insert and rounded edges. The double-pole switches isolate both live and neutral lines when the socket is off, providing additional safety over single-pole switching for high-draw appliances.

Designed for residential, office and hospitality installation, the socket fits a standard 25mm minimum back box depth and uses a rounded-edge faceplate with a built-in gasket that sits flush against the wall surface. The twin earth terminals support high-integrity earthing systems, making this socket suitable for installations where two separate earth connections are required for compliance or additional safety measures.

The brushed chrome finish shows a subtle linear grain that diffuses reflections and pairs well with both warm and cool-toned interiors. Twin earth terminals provide two separate earth connection points within the socket back box. This supports high-integrity earthing systems where a ring circuit requires dual earth continuity, or where supplementary bonding is needed alongside the standard earth connection.

What back box depth is required?

A 25mm minimum back box depth is needed for safe installation. The faceplate adds 7.5mm of projection from the wall once fitted, giving a total depth of approximately 32.5mm from the wall surface to the back of the back box.

Is the rounded edge faceplate removable for redecorating?

Yes. The faceplate is secured to the socket mechanism with screws and can be removed for painting around the socket. The built-in gasket sits flush against the wall, so there is no visible gap to fill when redecorating.
