Description

The Knightsbridge 13A 1-gang SP switched socket adds two USB-A charging ports alongside a single 13A outlet, behind a brushed brass faceplate with black insert. The dual USB-A ports share a combined 5V DC 2.1A output, allowing two devices to charge simultaneously at standard USB speed. The single-pole switch isolates the live line when switched off, controlling power to the 13A outlet only — the USB ports remain active.

Designed for residential, hospitality and office installation, the socket fits standard UK 35mm back boxes and uses Knightsbridge's Flat Plate range design with an ultra-low 7.8mm wall projection. The metal faceplate sits flush with minimal gap between plate and wall, giving a cleaner line than traditional raised faceplates. The 13A outlet handles standard UK appliance loads up to 2,990W, while the USB ports charge phones, tablets, battery packs and other small devices without needing a separate wall adapter.

The brushed brass finish provides a warm metallic accent that pairs with traditional, classical and warm-toned contemporary interiors. The black insert behind the faceplate hides the back of the cover and defines each outlet aperture. The 201 stainless steel construction with a 2.5mm plate thickness gives the socket a solid feel under finger pressure, and the brushed finish resists fingerprints better than polished brass.

A 35mm minimum back box depth is needed for safe installation. The Flat Plate design projects only 7.8mm from the wall once fitted, giving a low-profile finish.

What is the USB charging output?

The dual USB-A ports provide a shared 5V DC 2.1A output. When two devices are connected, the 2.1A is split between them. For optimal charging speed, use certified USB cables.

Does the switch control the USB ports?

No. The single-pole switch controls power to the 13A outlet only. The USB ports remain active at all times when the socket is wired to mains, allowing devices to charge even when the switch is off.
