The Knightsbridge 13A 1-gang DP switched socket combines a matt black screwless faceplate with a contrasting chrome rocker switch and black insert. The dual-pole switching isolates both live and neutral lines when switched off, providing additional safety over single-pole switching for high-draw appliances or installations where the socket may be left on for extended periods.

Designed for residential, hospitality and office installations, the socket fits a standard 25mm minimum back box depth and uses a screwless cover plate that clips onto a separate metal sub-frame. This removes visible screws or fixings from the wall face, giving a cleaner finish than traditional screw-fixed plates. The 13A rating handles standard UK appliance loads up to 2,990W per outlet.

The matt black finish on the SPCC steel plate provides a low-reflectance surface that pairs with contemporary, industrial and modern minimalist interiors. The chrome rocker offers a defined visual contrast against the black plate, making the switch position immediately visible. What back box depth is required?

A 25mm minimum back box depth is needed for safe installation. The screwless cover plate adds approximately 9.4mm of projection from the wall once fitted, giving a total depth of 31.7mm from the back of the mounting box to the front of the plate.

Is the screwless plate removable for redecorating?

Yes. The matt black cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box. The cover can be removed for painting around the socket and re-clipped without re-wiring or disturbing the electrical connections.

What does dual-pole switching mean?
