Description
The Knightsbridge 120° PIR sensor module is a 50x50mm passive infrared motion detector designed to fit euro modular grid frames. The black polycarbonate faceplate houses a PIR sensor with a 120° field of view and a detection range of up to 5 metres, automatically triggering connected lighting when movement is detected within range.
Designed for hallways, corridors, bathrooms, utility rooms and commercial restrooms, the module replaces a standard grid switch position and operates on 230V 50Hz mains wiring via live and neutral connections. The sensor includes a built-in time delay of 3 minutes (lights remain on for 3 minutes after the last detected movement) and a lux threshold that prevents activation when ambient light exceeds a preset level, so the lights only trigger in low-light conditions.
The module accepts a maximum load of 100W LED or 200W incandescent lighting, suitable for most domestic and light commercial installations. The 40mm recessed depth requires a minimum 47mm back box for safe installation, and the module clips into a compatible euro grid frame (sold separately). The black finish pairs with Knightsbridge's grid faceplate range in black, chrome, brass and steel finishes. Class II construction means no earth connection is required.

Frequently Asked
What grid frame does this fit?
This module fits any euro modular grid frame that accepts a 50x50mm module. The frame and faceplate are sold separately. Knightsbridge produces compatible grid frames in 1-gang to 4-gang configurations across multiple finishes.
Can the time delay or sensitivity be adjusted?
The module is factory-set for a 3-minute time delay and a fixed lux threshold. Neither setting is user-adjustable on this model. The sensor automatically switches off lights 3 minutes after the last detected movement.
What wiring is required?
The module requires live and neutral connections on 230V 50Hz mains. Class II construction means no earth connection is needed. A qualified electrician should carry out installation and ensure the back box depth meets the 47mm minimum requirement.
What is the maximum wattage supported?
The module supports a maximum load of 100W LED or 200W incandescent lighting. This is sufficient for most domestic hallway and bathroom lighting circuits. Do not exceed the stated load rating or use the module with motors or transformers.
