Description
The Knightsbridge 10AX 6-gang 2-way switch provides six independent lighting circuits controlled from two locations, behind an antique brass screwless faceplate with matching metal rockers. Each gang is rated at 10A (10AX) and switches up to 2,300W per circuit at 230V, making it suitable for higher-load lighting installations including banks of downlights, multiple pendant circuits, or commercial LED arrays.
Designed for large residential rooms, hallways, open-plan living spaces and commercial interiors where multiple lighting zones need control from two entrances, the 6-gang configuration consolidates six separate switch positions into a single wall plate. Two-way switching means each circuit can be operated from this switch and a second matching 2-way switch at another location, such as opposite ends of a corridor or either side of a large lounge.
The screwless cover plate is manufactured from 201 stainless steel and finished in antique brass, which provides a warm, aged metallic tone with darker patina detail around the edges. The plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame that's fixed to a standard 16mm minimum depth back box, so there are no visible screws or fixings once installed. A built-in gasket between the plate and the wall provides a dust seal and helps prevent paint or plaster debris entering the back box during redecoration. The 147.5mm width and 87.5mm height make this one of the wider switches in the Knightsbridge range, giving it a substantial presence on the wall.

Frequently Asked
What does 2-way switching mean?
Two-way switching allows each lighting circuit to be controlled from two separate switch locations. You would install this 6-gang switch at one position and a matching 6-gang 2-way switch at another position (such as opposite ends of a hallway), and each circuit can then be turned on or off from either switch.
What back box depth is required?
A minimum 16mm back box depth is required. The switch has an 8.4mm projection from the wall once installed, with 13.2mm of the mechanism recessed into the back box.
What's the difference between 10AX and 10A rating?
The 10AX rating means the switch can handle inductive loads (such as transformers and motor circuits) as well as resistive loads (standard incandescent or LED lighting). A standard 10A switch is rated only for resistive loads. The AX rating provides greater flexibility for commercial and high-load installations.
Is the screwless plate removable for redecorating?
Yes. The antique brass cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame that remains fixed to the back box. The cover can be removed for painting or wallpapering around the switch and re-clipped without disturbing the wiring.
