Description
The Knightsbridge 10AX 4-gang 2-way toggle switch controls four separate lighting circuits, each switchable from two locations. Four polished chrome toggle dolly switches sit behind a rounded-edge stainless steel faceplate with screw fixings visible at each corner. The 10AX rating allows each gang to carry up to 2,300W on 230V mains, handling standard domestic lighting loads with margin for LED, halogen or incandescent circuits.
Designed for hallways, landings and through-rooms where lights need to be controlled from both ends of the space, the 2-way configuration pairs with a second switch at the opposite end of the circuit. The four gangs operate independently, making the switch suitable for rooms with multiple zones (ceiling light, wall lights, cabinet lighting, task light) where each circuit needs its own 2-way control. The rounded-edge faceplate sits 25.9mm proud of the wall once fitted to a 16mm minimum back box.
The polished chrome finish is plated onto 304 stainless steel, giving a bright, reflective surface that pairs with chrome bathroom fittings, contemporary kitchens and both warm and cool colour schemes. The rounded edge softens the profile compared to flat or square-edge plates and provides a gasket seal against the wall. The switch carries a 25-year manufacturer's guarantee and meets EN 60669-1 standard requirements for residential and light commercial installation.

Frequently Asked
What does 2-way mean?
2-way switching allows each of the four lighting circuits to be controlled from two separate switch locations. This requires a second matching 2-way switch at the opposite end of each circuit, typically used in hallways or on staircases where you need to turn lights on at one end and off at the other.
What back box depth is required?
A 16mm minimum back box depth is needed. The switch projects 25.9mm from the wall once installed, with the faceplate itself being 7.5mm thick.
What's the maximum load per gang?
Each gang is rated at 10AX on 230V, which allows up to 2,300W per circuit. This is sufficient for most domestic lighting loads including multiple LED downlights, halogen spotlights or traditional filament bulbs on a single circuit.
Can the polished chrome tarnish?
The chrome plating is applied to 304 stainless steel, which resists tarnishing better than brass-based finishes. In high-humidity environments or where cleaning chemicals are used regularly, occasional polishing with a soft cloth maintains the reflective finish.
