Description
The Knightsbridge 10AX 4-gang 2-way toggle switch provides four independent toggle controls for lighting circuits behind an antique brass screwless faceplate. Each gang is rated at 10AX, handling resistive loads up to 2,300W per switch on 230V mains, which suits most domestic and commercial lighting installations including LED, halogen and incandescent circuits.
Designed for rooms with multiple lighting zones or dual access points such as hallways, living rooms and open-plan spaces, the 2-way configuration allows each circuit to be controlled from two separate switch positions. The ultra-flat plate depth of 4.3mm sits almost flush with the wall surface, requiring only a 16mm minimum back box depth rather than the 25mm standard for traditional switches. The screwless cover clips onto a separate metal sub-frame, hiding all fixings once installed.
The antique brass finish provides a warm, aged metallic tone with subtle tonal variation across the brushed surface, pairing well with period interiors, traditional fittings and warm-toned contemporary schemes. The 201 stainless steel construction underneath the finish provides corrosion resistance, and an integral moisture-resistant gasket behind the faceplate meets IP20 rating for standard interior installation. The switch carries a 25-year manufacturer guarantee and complies with BS EN 60669-1.

Frequently Asked
What does 2-way switching mean?
2-way switching allows each lighting circuit to be controlled from two separate switch positions, such as either end of a hallway or at the top and bottom of a staircase. This requires 2-way switches at both positions and appropriate 3-core wiring between them.
What back box depth is required?
A minimum 16mm back box depth is needed, significantly shallower than the 25mm required for standard switches. The ultra-flat 4.3mm plate depth means the total projection from the wall is just 22.7mm once installed.
What load can each gang handle?
Each gang is rated at 10AX, which handles resistive loads up to 2,300W at 230V. This is suitable for most lighting circuits including LED, halogen and incandescent fittings. For inductive or capacitive loads, consult an electrician.
Is the screwless plate removable for redecorating?
Yes. The antique brass cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame that is fixed to the back box. The cover can be removed for painting or decorating around the switch and re-clipped without disturbing the wiring.
