Description

The Knightsbridge 10AX 4-gang 2-way switch controls four separate lighting circuits from two locations, finished in antique brass with a screwless faceplate. Each gang is rated at 10AX, handling lighting loads up to 2,300W per circuit at 230V. The 2-way configuration allows each circuit to be switched from this plate and a second switch elsewhere in the room, typically used for landing lights controlled from both upstairs and downstairs, or hallway lights controlled from either end.

Designed for period homes, traditional interiors and heritage restoration projects where modern wiring functionality needs to sit behind period-appropriate finishes, the antique brass faceplate provides a warm, aged metallic tone that pairs with Victorian, Edwardian and traditional Georgian room schemes. The screwless cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame, hiding fixings behind a seamless face with only the four rocker switches visible. The plate measures 147.5mm wide by 87.5mm high, fitting a standard 2-gang UK back box footprint with a minimum 16mm depth.

The switch body is constructed from 201 stainless steel with an antique brass PVD finish over the surface. The built-in gasket between the cover plate and the sub-frame provides IP20 dust ingress protection and helps prevent paint creep during redecorating. The captive terminals accept standard UK twin-and-earth wiring and retain terminal screws within the switch body when loosened, preventing dropped screws during installation.
