Description
The Knightsbridge 10AX 3-gang 2-way toggle switch is a flat plate control with three individual toggle levers finished in gunmetal. Each gang is rated at 10AX (10 amps at 250V), making it suitable for controlling lighting circuits and low-to-medium load appliances. The 2-way switching configuration allows each circuit to be controlled from two separate switch locations — typical in hallways, landings and rooms with multiple entry points.
Designed for residential, hospitality and commercial installation, the switch fits a 16mm minimum mounting box depth. The flat plate construction uses 201 stainless steel with a gunmetal finish — a dark grey-charcoal tone with minimal sheen that pairs with industrial, contemporary and warehouse-style interiors. The plate sits flush to the wall with only a 21.1mm projection once fitted, and an integrated gasket around the plate edge provides IP20 ingress protection against dust.
The three toggle levers are arranged horizontally across the 147.5mm-wide plate, each operating independently. The toggle action is mechanical rather than momentary, with a tactile click at both the on and off positions. The switch complies with EN 60669-1 and carries Knightsbridge's 25-year guarantee. The gunmetal finish is a PVD coating over the stainless steel substrate, giving scratch resistance and colour stability over time.

Frequently Asked
What does 2-way switching mean?
2-way switching allows a single circuit to be controlled from two different switch locations. This is typical in hallways, staircases and rooms with multiple entry points where you need to switch lights on from one position and off from another. Each gang on this switch can be wired in a 2-way configuration independently.
What back box depth is required?
A 16mm minimum mounting box depth is needed. This is shallower than many switches, making it suitable for installations where wall cavity depth is limited, such as dot-and-dab plasterboard over masonry.
Is the gunmetal finish durable?
The gunmetal finish is a PVD coating applied over 201 stainless steel. PVD (physical vapour deposition) provides scratch resistance and colour stability superior to painted or powder-coated finishes. Knightsbridge backs this with a 25-year guarantee.
Can this be used with LED bulbs?
Yes. The 10AX rating handles the low loads of LED lighting circuits without issue. The mechanical toggle action is compatible with all load types including LED, halogen, incandescent and CFL.
