Description

The Knightsbridge 1.8m ES vintage pendant set pairs a polished brass lampholder with a black fabric-covered flex and a matching polished brass ceiling rose. The lampholder accepts a standard E27 bulb (sold separately) and the entire assembly comes pre-wired, reducing installation time to connecting the ceiling rose to the existing ceiling wiring and hooking the strain relief.

Designed for kitchens, dining rooms and living spaces where a single suspended bulb provides task or decorative lighting, the 1.8m drop suits rooms with ceiling heights from 2.4m upwards. The lampholder is compatible with fabric or metal lampshades that have a 42mm internal ring diameter, allowing the pendant to be dressed with a shade or left bare to show off decorative filament bulbs. The polished brass finish suits both traditional schemes and warmer contemporary interiors.

The lampholder body is machined from premium-grade steel and finished in polished brass with a knurled detail around the base, giving it a weight and visual presence that distinguishes it from lightweight plastic alternatives. The Class II double-insulated construction requires no earth connection to the lampholder itself (though the earth terminal in the ceiling rose remains present for safety). The IP20 rating limits the pendant to dry indoor locations.

What bulb does it take?

The pendant takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with either a decorative LED filament bulb in 2200K-2700K for vintage ambiance or a standard warm-white LED for general lighting.

Can I fit a lampshade to this pendant?

Yes. The lampholder is compatible with fabric or metal lampshades that have a 42mm internal ring diameter. The shade slips over the lampholder body and is secured with the shade ring that screws onto the base of the lampholder.

Is the pendant dimmable?

Dimming depends on the bulb you fit. If you use a dimmable LED or halogen bulb, the pendant can be controlled by a compatible wall dimmer. The pendant hardware itself does not prevent dimming.

Can the drop length be adjusted?

The 1.8m flex is fixed-length, but excess cable can be looped inside the ceiling rose cavity during installation to shorten the visible drop. Alternatively, the flex can be shortened and re-terminated by a qualified electrician if a permanent reduction is needed.
