Description

The Viora is a 150W constant voltage LED driver housed in a powder-coated black aluminium casing measuring 304mm long by 15.8mm deep. It converts 230V AC mains input to a stable 24V DC output, designed for powering LED strip lighting, LED tape and other constant voltage LED installations requiring up to 150W total load.

Used in residential kitchen under-cabinet lighting, shopfitting display cases, hospitality bar lighting and architectural cove lighting, the Viora fits into ceiling voids, behind pelmet boards and inside furniture units where the 304mm length and slim 15.8mm profile allow it to be concealed. The 400mm cable run on both input and output sides provides working length for connection without needing immediate junction points at the driver location.

The aluminium casing acts as a passive heatsink, dissipating thermal load without active cooling fans or ventilation slots that could collect dust. Integrated overload and short-circuit protection shuts down output if the connected LED load exceeds the 150W rating or if output wiring is accidentally shorted during installation. The constant voltage regulation maintains consistent 24V output across the full load range, preventing visible dimming when multiple LED strips are run from a single driver.

The Viora carries a 5-year warranty from Ideal Lux. Installation requires connection to a switched or unswitched fused spur on the mains side, and screw-terminal connection to the LED load on the output side. The driver must be installed in a location with adequate ventilation and access for future maintenance, and cannot be buried in insulation or enclosed in airtight housings.

The Viora outputs constant 24V DC. It is designed for 24V LED strip lighting and tape, not for 12V or mains-voltage LED products. Check your LED strip specification before connecting to ensure voltage compatibility.

Can the Viora be dimmed?

No. The specification table confirms this driver is not dimmable. If dimming is required for your installation, a separate dimmable constant voltage driver or a compatible external dimming controller would be needed.

How much LED strip can the Viora power?

The 150W rating supports up to 150W total LED load. For example, if your LED strip draws 12W per metre, the driver can power up to 12.5 metres of that strip. Always calculate total wattage of the connected LED load and leave a safety margin below the 150W maximum.

Where should the driver be installed?

The driver must be installed in a ventilated location with access for maintenance. Suitable locations include ceiling voids above access hatches, inside furniture plinths with ventilation gaps, or behind removable pelmet boards. Do not bury the driver in loft insulation or seal it in airtight enclosures, as this prevents heat dissipation and will shorten lifespan.
